Not directly. Every channel terminates in 1/4-inch TRS, and mics need XLR into a preamp. You'd be adapting connectors and still need preamps somewhere.

02Is every channel balanced?

Each of the eight channels is TRS at both ends, so all eight can run balanced when the gear at each end has balanced jacks.

03Can I use only four of the eight channels?

Yes. Unused channels sit idle with no effect on the others. Leave them unplugged and tied back out of the way.

04Will 20 feet cause signal loss?

At line level, no. Capacitance is 140 pF/m and the lines are balanced, so a 20-foot run arrives intact.
