Strong match

Who this is for

  • Linking an audio interface DB25 port to eight balanced TRS inputs
  • Rack studios where a 5 ft run reaches the neighboring unit
  • Permanent installs where the cable stays coiled behind a rack

Consider the trade-offs

When to look elsewhere

  • Anyone needing XLR ends for mics or console preamps
  • Runs longer than five feet between rack and desk
  • Unbalanced or single-channel connections

What matters in use

The specifications, translated

Catalog numbers tell only part of the story. These are the details most likely to change how this product feels, sounds, or fits into a setup.

Detail 01

DB25 to TRS, 8 channels

One connector carries eight balanced signals. Both ends must be balanced gear; TRS here is line level, not headphone.

Detail 02

5 ft length

Rack-to-rack distance. Measure before you order; there is no slack to route around a deep rack or under a desk.

Detail 03

Served spiral shield

Spiral shielding stays flexible when coiled and keeps rejecting noise. Good for cables that get moved and re-dressed.

Detail 04

Hum pickup 2.5mV max, 0.1mV at 10kHz

Low induced noise near power supplies and transformers, which matters when eight lines run together through a rack.

Detail 05

Capacitance 42.7 pF/ft

Low enough that high frequencies stay intact over this length. Capacitance only becomes audible on much longer runs.

Detail 06

#25AWG conductor, 0.110 in flexible PVC jacket

Thin conductors keep the eight-pair bundle manageable; the flexible jacket lets it bend tightly behind a rack.

Final check

Know before you order

  1. 01Check whether your DB25 pinout is Tascam or Yamaha standard before ordering
  2. 02Confirm your gear's TRS jacks are balanced line inputs, not inserts or headphone outs
  3. 03No adapters, labels, or velcro ties included

Product questions

Before you decide

Straight answers to the questions shoppers most often ask about this product.

01Will this work with my Tascam-standard DB25 interface?

Check the pinout your interface uses. DB25 analog wiring follows more than one standard, and a mismatch sends channels to the wrong destinations.

02Can I use it for inserts?

No. This is eight separate balanced channels, one TRS per channel. Insert cables split a single TRS into send and return, which is a different wiring.

03Is 5 ft long enough?

It reaches between adjacent rack units or from a rack-mounted interface to gear a few spaces away. Measure the actual path, including slack for cable dressing.

04Does the TRS end work in unbalanced gear?

A TRS plug in an unbalanced TS jack loses the balanced connection and its noise rejection. Use this between balanced gear on both ends.
