01What do the numbers and letter in 18B4 mean?
The 18 is cup diameter, the B is cup shape, the 4 is rim contour. Schilke's number 4 rim is a semi-flat profile built for comfort in the upper register.
02Is this good for high notes?
The semi-flat 4 rim is designed to stay comfortable up high. But the 18 is a wide diameter, which most players find harder to drive above the staff than a smaller size.
03Will it fit my cornet?
No. This is a trumpet shank. Cornets use a shorter, narrower shank and it won't seat correctly.
04How is this different from the Heavyweight version?
Same rim and cup dimensions, different blank. The Heavyweight has more metal around the cup and shank, so it feels heavier and more solid in the receiver.
