It sits in Schilke's Group II, the larger diameter tier of the Standard Series, so expect more rim than a small entry-level piece.
02Is this good for beginners?
A larger cup asks for more air and a settled embouchure. Developing players usually do better on the smaller Group I sizes first.
03Does the number 16 tell me the cup depth?
No. In this series the number is the diameter; letters after it mark cup depth, rim contour and backbore. A plain 16 is the standard configuration.
04Silver or gold plating?
This one is silver. It feels slightly grippier on the lip than gold and resists tarnish better than bare brass.
