01How is the 15B different from the plain 15?
Identical .674-inch cup diameter and 26 throat. The 15B swaps in a B-style cup, which is shallower and produces a more brilliant sound than the standard 15.
02Is this a good first mouthpiece?
It's a narrow, bright-leaning piece. A beginner is usually better served by a medium diameter with a deeper cup while the embouchure is still forming.
03Why is this so much cheaper than the gold Schilke pieces?
Plating. Silver-plated Standard Series pieces run well under the gold Group II versions; the cup, rim and throat dimensions are what define the model.
04Will it help my high notes?
The shallower B cup and small diameter make the upper register easier to reach. It won't replace air support or practice, and the low register gives up some body.
