Strong match

Who this is for

  • Reloading a 1x10, 2x10 or 4x10 guitar combo
  • Players who want faster attack and tighter low end than a 12
  • Amps in the 20 to 40 watt range wanting alnico break-up

Consider the trade-offs

When to look elsewhere

  • High-wattage heads pushing well past 40 watts
  • Players needing deep low end from a single speaker
  • Anyone whose amp cannot be matched near 15 or 16 ohms

What matters in use

The specifications, translated

Catalog numbers tell only part of the story. These are the details most likely to change how this product feels, sounds, or fits into a setup.

Detail 01

10-inch cone

Less cone area than a 12. Tighter, quicker response and less low-end bloom, with a more focused midrange.

Detail 02

15 ohm impedance

Sits close enough to 16 ohms to use on a 16-ohm tap. Four in series-parallel land near 15 ohms as well.

Detail 03

Alnico magnet

Compresses and saturates earlier than ceramic, softening pick attack and adding break-up before the amp itself distorts.

Detail 04

40 watt handling

Enough for most 30 to 40 watt combos on a single speaker, with more margin in multi-speaker cabs where power divides.

Detail 05

Bare replacement driver

You are buying the speaker only. It goes into a cab or combo you already have.

Final check

Know before you order

  1. 01No cabinet, wiring or mounting hardware included.
  2. 02Verify your baffle is cut for a 10-inch speaker with a matching bolt pattern.
  3. 03Work out total impedance across all speakers before wiring to your amp.

Product questions

Before you decide

Straight answers to the questions shoppers most often ask about this product.

01Can I run a 15 ohm speaker on a 16 ohm amp output?

Yes. A one-ohm difference is within normal tolerance and will not harm the amp. Use the 16-ohm tap.

02How does a 10 compare to a 12?

A 10-inch cone moves less air. You get faster attack, tighter bass and a more focused midrange, with less of the low-end weight a 12 produces.

03Will this handle my 40 watt amp?

In a single-speaker cab, 40 watts is at the limit with no margin. In a 2x10 or 4x10, power splits across speakers and headroom is comfortable.

04Does it come with mounting hardware?

No. It ships as a bare driver. Reuse the bolts and nuts from the speaker you are replacing, or source new ones to match your baffle.
