Independent shopping perspective

The Korena take

Four 8mm cymbal sleeves. Buy them when the stand rod is chewing a cymbal's center hole, or when old sleeves have split.

Strong match

Who this is for

  • Stands with 8mm tilter rods needing fresh sleeves
  • Protecting hard-hit crashes prone to keyholing
  • Restocking a hardware case with cheap spares

Consider the trade-offs

When to look elsewhere

  • Stands with 6mm rods — the sleeve sits loose
  • Anyone who also needs felts or wing nuts
  • Hi-hat clutches, which use their own felt arrangement

What matters in use

The specifications, translated

Catalog numbers tell only part of the story. These are the details most likely to change how this product feels, sounds, or fits into a setup.

Detail 01

8 mm

Matches the rod diameter on most full-size cymbal stands. On a 6mm rod the sleeve slops and the cymbal shifts.

Detail 02

Flanged

The lip at the base seats against the bottom felt, so the sleeve can't creep down the rod while you play.

Detail 03

Sleeve, not a washer

It isolates the cymbal's center hole from the metal rod. That contact is what causes keyholing.

Detail 04

Four in the pack

Enough for four stands, or two plus spares. Sleeves split well before the rest of the stack wears out.

Detail 05

Sleeve only

Felts, washers and wing nuts need to already be on the stand or bought separately.

Final check

Know before you order

  1. 01Measure your tilter rod — 8mm is common, but some stands use 6mm
  2. 02No felts or wing nuts included
  3. 03A cymbal that's already keyholed won't be repaired by a new sleeve

Product questions

Before you decide

Straight answers to the questions shoppers most often ask about this product.

01How do I know if I need 6mm or 8mm?

Measure the threaded rod on the tilter or check the wing nut that fits it. Most full-size cymbal stands are 8mm; lightweight and older stands are sometimes 6mm.

02What does flanged mean?

There's a lip at the bottom of the sleeve. It rests on the lower felt and keeps the sleeve from sliding down the rod as the cymbal moves.

03Will this stop keyholing?

It keeps the metal rod from contacting the cymbal's hole, which is what causes keyholing. Damage already in the cymbal stays.

04Do I still need felts?

Yes. The sleeve protects the hole; felts above and below let the cymbal swing freely and keep metal off the bronze.
