Strong match

Who this is for

  • Higher-gain rigs where tight low end matters more than midrange push
  • Replacing a blown or dull stock speaker in an existing 1x12
  • Building a 4x12 where the wiring math lands on 16 ohms

Consider the trade-offs

When to look elsewhere

  • Players chasing warm, midrange-forward vintage tone
  • Anyone whose amp or cab wiring needs 8 or 4 ohms
  • Buyers who want a plug-in product rather than a cab job

What matters in use

The specifications, translated

Catalog numbers tell only part of the story. These are the details most likely to change how this product feels, sounds, or fits into a setup.

Detail 01

16 ohm impedance

Only correct in specific wiring layouts. Four 16-ohm speakers in series-parallel give 16 ohms; two in parallel give 8.

Detail 02

75 watt handling

Comfortably takes a 50-watt head on its own, and is a safe choice in multi-speaker cabs where power splits.

Detail 03

12-inch cone

The standard guitar cab size. Fuller low end and more spread than a 10, which is why most 4x12s use it.

Detail 04

Sold as a bare speaker

It is a raw driver, not a cabinet. You are buying the component that goes inside one you already own.

Detail 05

Single speaker

Price is per unit. Loading a full 4x12 means buying four, and all four should match.

Final check

Know before you order

  1. 01No cabinet, grille cloth, wire or hardware included. Bare driver only.
  2. 02Check your cab's baffle cutout and mounting bolt pattern before ordering.
  3. 03Confirm the total impedance your amp needs after all speakers are wired.

Product questions

Before you decide

Straight answers to the questions shoppers most often ask about this product.

01Will this work with my 8 ohm amp?

Not on its own. A single 16-ohm speaker presents 16 ohms. You would need two of them wired in parallel to reach 8 ohms, or an amp with a 16-ohm tap.

02How many watts can I run into it?

It handles 75 watts. A 50-watt head into one speaker is fine. In a 4x12 with four of these, total handling is 300 watts.

03Does it come with a cabinet?

No. This is a bare replacement driver. You install it in a cab you already have or one you build.

04Do I need to break it in?

New speakers stiffen up out of the box and loosen over the first several hours of playing. Expect the low end to open up as the cone works in.
