Gibson CustomMurphy Lab 1957 Les Paul Junior Single-Cut Reissue Heavy Aged Electric Guitar Vintage Sunburst

Product overview
About this model
The Gibson Custom Murphy Lab 1957 Les Paul Junior is an exacting replica of a classic, time-tested design. Originally marketed as a beginner’s guitar, the Junior later found favor with pro players like Leslie West, Johnny Thunders, Bob Marley, Billy Joe Armstrong, Keith Urban and others. This Junior reissue captures all of that vintage swagger with a single Dogear P90; an impeccable Heavy aged finish is icing on the cake. Gibson Custom 1957 Les Paul Junior Single-Cut Main Features 1-piece solid mahogany body with Heavy aging Solid mahogany neck with Chunky C profile, Indian Rosewood fretboard Custom Dogear P90, volume and tone controls Wraparound bridge/tailpiece, Kluson strip tuners with white buttons Classic Construction & Authentic Aging Gibson spec’d solid mahogany for the body, a warm and mellow tonewood. It provides a stable sonic base that allows the single-coil pickup to shine. The aged finish is courtesy of Tom Murphy's team at Gibson Custom. For the last 25 years, he’s perfected the art and science of aging instruments. This Junior gets a Heavy aged finish—you’ll see buckle rash, finish checking, peghead face wear and more. It looks like a guitar that’s spent decades on the road, bouncing around in band vans and slung around on stages in sweaty dives. Period-Correct Neck Fans of ‘50s neck profiles will dig the Murphy Lab Les Paul Junior. The mahogany neck sports a Chunky C shape for a fat—but not baseball bat—feel. Long tenon construction set in hide glue maximizes sustain; a single cutaway makes it hassle-free to hit high notes. The Indian rosewood fretboard has rounded edges for a worn-in feel. Pickup From the Past There’s no room to hide with a single pickup guitar—it’s all about the player. The custom Dogear P90 in the 1957 Les Paul Jr. Single-Cut Reissue Heavy Aged electric guitar proves that less is more. Surface-mounted near the bridge makes for a brighter, tighter tone with plenty of power. Keep it clean, or add gain for crunch rhythm or leads. Historic Hardware The Murphy Lab Les Paul Junior pairs Kluson strip tuners with a wraparound bridge/tailpiece. Nickel plated, it’s all heavily aged to match the finish. The Gibson Custom Murphy Lab 1957 Les Paul Junior comes with a certificate of authenticity and an aged brown and pink Lifton reissue 5-latch hard case.
