01Will this fit my trombone?
Only if it takes a small shank — typical of small and medium bore tenors. Large-bore horns use a wider taper and this piece will sit loose.
02I'm a trumpet player asked to cover trombone. Is this the one?
That's exactly what the 40B is shaped around. The tiny rim and wide-rounded contour let a trumpet embouchure function without retraining.
03What's the difference between the 40 and the 40B?
Nearly the same diameter, .887 against .886. The 40 is the general small-diameter piece, good on bass trumpet and valve trombone. The 40B adds the shallow B cup and wide-rounded rim for doublers.
04Can I use this on a euphonium or baritone?
No — far too small. The 46D suits younger baritone and euphonium players, and the 51D or 52D are the larger euphonium choices in this line.
