Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
In Dark Burst, Epiphone’s 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue combines a mahogany solidbody, one-piece mahogany neck, and maple cap with AAA flamed maple veneer. Its two USA Gibson Custombucker humbuckers use Alnico 3 magnets and work with hand-wired CTS potentiometers and Bumblebee paper-in-oil capacitors for a responsive, vintage-inspired control layout. The bound rosewood fingerboard, 1959 Rounded Medium C profile, ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, and included hardshell case finish a historically detailed single-cut instrument.
Strong match
Who this is for
- Clean passages, edge-of-breakup settings, and saturated lead tones that need retained articulation.
- Fine volume and tone adjustments through the hand-wired CTS control circuit.
- Storing the guitar in the included hardshell case for added protection.
Consider the trade-offs
When to look elsewhere
- Players who need a left-handed guitar.
