01How does the 1C compare to the 3C?
The 3C is smaller at 16.75mm with a 3.70mm throat — freer blowing and easier to control. The 1C is bigger and darker, with more volume available.
02Can I use this for jazz or lead playing?
It's the wrong end of the line for that. The 5E and 3E use V-type backbores for a bright, crisp screamer sound; the 4X and 5X are the jazz cushion-rim options.
03Will a large cup improve my sound?
Only if you can fill it. The 3.90mm throat needs real air support. Without it, you lose range and endurance before you gain tone.
04What does the C mean?
It marks a variant of the base model. The 1C keeps the model 1's dimensions but plays more easily and with more flexibility.
