Yes. It is a condenser and requires 18 to 52 volts. Any mixer or interface with standard 48V phantom will run it.

02Can I hang this from a ceiling?

It is designed for suspended and stand-mounted distance miking. The carbon fiber rod is light enough for overhead placement over a choir or ensemble.

03How is this different from the M1255B alone?

This is a complete assembly: the 50-inch boom plus a hypercardioid capsule. The tighter pattern gives more rejection off the sides than a standard cardioid.

04Will it plug straight into a normal XLR input?

Not directly. The connections are mini-XLR, so you need Audix's matching cable or adapter to reach a standard XLR mixer input.
