01Is V12 2.5 the same as regular Vandoren 2.5?
No. V12 uses a thicker blank, so it feels a bit firmer and denser than the blue-box Traditional in the same strength. Many players drop a half step when switching.
02Will these work on a curved soprano?
Yes. Curved and straight sopranos use the same reed size, so fit depends on the mouthpiece, not the body shape.
03How long does one reed last?
With daily playing, a few weeks is typical. Rotating four or five reeds instead of playing one to death stretches the box considerably.
04Do I need to soak them first?
Wet the reed thoroughly before playing, in your mouth or in water. A dry reed plays flat, feels stiff, and chips at the tip more easily.
