Only if it is a large-shank tenor, and even then the 28.52mm diameter is a bass size. Tenor players should look at the 47 through 51 range.
02What is the difference between the 59 and the 58?
The 58 is 27.68mm and is aimed at players who double tenor and bass. The 59 is nearly a millimeter wider and built for full-time bass playing.
03Is gold plating worth it over silver?
It is a feel and skin question, not a tone question. Gold is smoother and warmer on the lip and is the usual answer for players with silver sensitivity.
04Is this too much mouthpiece for a student?
Yes. The wide diameter and 19/64 throat demand developed air and embouchure. A student on bass trombone is better served lower in the range.
