The 30 is the original Farkas with a wide rounded rim and fairly deep cup, built as an all-arounder. The 31C2 has a much thinner rim and larger diameter, trading comfort for volume of tone.
02Is this a good beginner mouthpiece?
Not really. The very thin rim rewards a developed embouchure. A rounded rim like the 30 or the balanced 29 is easier for a younger player.
03Will it help my high register?
No. The larger diameter and medium-large cup favor volume and a full sound. For upper register, a smaller cup and throat like the 28 is the direction to go.
