01How long do Plasticover reeds last?
Longer than plain cane in most cases. The coating keeps moisture out, so the reed holds its shape and response until the tip chips or the fibers finally soften.
02Is 1.5 too soft for me?
If you're in your first months on soprano, 1.5 is a reasonable start. If you already play a 2.5 comfortably, this will feel thin and hard to control in the upper register.
03Do I need to wet these before playing?
Yes. Moisten the tip briefly so it seals against the mouthpiece. They don't need the long soak or break-in period plain cane does.
04Will these fit a clarinet?
No. Soprano sax and clarinet reeds differ in width and cut. Use a reed made for your instrument.
