Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
Finished in Cobalt Smokeburst, the Studio Mango Limited Edition pairs a figured mango top with ziricote on the fingerboard and headstock veneer. The mahogany body and neck carry a 22-fret, 25-inch-scale Pattern neck design. PRS places Narrowfield pickups at the neck and middle, then a McCarty III T humbucker at the bridge, giving the guitar focused clear voices alongside a fuller bridge option. Its 5-way blade selector, push/pull tone control, Gen III tremolo, and Phase III locking tuners support expressive playing and direct tonal changes.
Strong match
Who this is for
- Clean passages and layered rhythm parts that benefit from the neck and middle Narrowfield pickup positions.
- Expressive lead playing that calls for the fuller output and midrange push of the bridge humbucker.
- Making tonal adjustments with the 5-way blade selector and push/pull tone control.
Consider the trade-offs
When to look elsewhere
- Left-handed players; this is a right-handed instrument.
- Players who prefer a fixed bridge rather than the PRS Gen III tremolo.
