Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
For a Bb clarinet fitted with a French mouthpiece, the European Cut Signature reed in 3 strength combines a shorter, wider vamp with a reinforced spine. The vamp is designed to feel comfortable at the embouchure. Extra spine material provides rigidity without giving up the reed’s free-blowing character, and helps maintain stability in the high register. It is a mouthpiece-specific choice, so do not use it with most German mouthpieces.
