Independent shopping perspective

The Korena take

Rackmount power conditioner and surge protector for a 20-amp rack. For racks that need clean AC and spike protection, not voltage correction.

Strong match

Who this is for

  • Touring racks on unpredictable venue power
  • Studio racks where noise floor matters
  • Rigs drawing up to 20 amps continuous

Consider the trade-offs

When to look elsewhere

  • Rooms with sagging or low line voltage — no regulation here
  • Anyone needing only a few outlets on a shelf
  • Circuits with 15A service — the plug will not fit

What matters in use

The specifications, translated

Catalog numbers tell only part of the story. These are the details most likely to change how this product feels, sounds, or fits into a setup.

Detail 01

20 amp current rating

Feeds a full rack, but the wall circuit must be a 20A line with a matching receptacle.

Detail 02

NEMA 20 plug on a captive cord

The T-slot plug does not fit a standard 15A outlet, and the cord is not replaceable.

Detail 03

Over-voltage shutdown at 140 VAC

Cuts power to everything downstream when the line spikes high, so gear drops out rather than cooks.

Detail 04

1 nanosecond response time

Clamping engages faster than a transient can travel through, so downstream supplies never see the peak.

Detail 05

Noise attenuation rising to 100 dB at 10 MHz

Most effective against RF hash from dimmers and transmitters, less so against low-frequency hum.

Detail 06

1.75 inch H, 19 inch W

One rack space, 10.5 inches deep — check clearance behind it for the captive cord bend.

Final check

Know before you order

  1. 01Confirm your circuit is 20A with a NEMA 20 receptacle before ordering
  2. 02Rack screws and washers are not part of this
  3. 03Conditioning is not regulation — brownouts still reach your gear

Product questions

Before you decide

Straight answers to the questions shoppers most often ask about this product.

01Does this fix low voltage at a venue?

No. It conditions noise, clamps spikes, and shuts down on over-voltage. Correcting a sagging line takes a voltage regulator such as the P-1800 AR or P-2400 AR.

02Can I plug it into a normal wall outlet?

Not directly. The NEMA 20 plug has a sideways blade that only mates with a 20A receptacle. You need a 20A circuit.

03How many rack spaces does it take?

One. It is 1.75 inches tall on a standard 19 inch rack, 10.5 inches deep.

04What happens during a big surge?

It clamps at 188 VAC peak in one nanosecond and handles up to 6,500 amps of surge current, with protection line to neutral and zero ground leakage.
