01Will the 4BS fit my large-bore trombone?
No. This is a small-shank mouthpiece. A large-bore horn needs a large-shank piece, such as the 4BL in the same family.
02How does 4BS differ from 5BS?
The 4BS has a wider cup, 25.90mm versus 25.73mm, and a larger 7.13mm throat. It is bigger and more demanding in both dimensions.
03Is this a good step up from a stock student mouthpiece?
Not directly. The wide cup and large throat suit a well-developed embouchure. Coming straight off a small student piece is a big jump.
04Why gold plating instead of silver?
Gold feels warmer and slightly more slippery on the lip. It is also the usual pick for players whose skin reacts to silver.
