Strong match

Who this is for

  • Reloading a tired 2x12 cab for high-gain rhythm work
  • Players who want tight low end at loud stage volume
  • Builders wiring a 4-ohm or 16-ohm 2x12 from scratch

Consider the trade-offs

When to look elsewhere

  • Bass or full-range PA use — the response stops at 5kHz
  • Players chasing early speaker breakup at bedroom volume
  • Anyone needing a finished cab; these are bare drivers

What matters in use

The specifications, translated

Catalog numbers tell only part of the story. These are the details most likely to change how this product feels, sounds, or fits into a setup.

Detail 01

97dB sensitivity

Loud per watt. A 15W head through these keeps up with a drummer; low-volume practice gets harder.

Detail 02

75W each, 8 ohms nominal

150W total for the pair. Series gives 16 ohms, parallel gives 4 — match your amp's tap.

Detail 03

80–5000Hz range

Rolled off on top, so fizz above 5k never gets through. Also why they're useless for bass or vocals.

Detail 04

Ceramic magnet, pressed steel chassis

Heavier and firmer-sounding than neodymium or alnico, and it stays clean instead of compressing when pushed.

Detail 05

5.0 inch depth, 11.1 inch cutout, 11.7 inch mounting circle

Measure your cab's baffle hole, bolt circle and internal clearance before ordering. Deep drivers foul shallow cabs.

Detail 06

7.7 lb per driver

A loaded 2x12 gains about 15 pounds over an empty shell. Factor that into a head-and-cab carry.

Final check

Know before you order

  1. 01No cabinet, baffle, wire, jack plate or mounting hardware comes with these
  2. 02The two drivers read different DC resistance — measure each before wiring
  3. 03Speakers stiffen when new; tone settles after several hours of playing

Product questions

Before you decide

Straight answers to the questions shoppers most often ask about this product.

01What impedance do I get with both speakers in one cab?

Wired in series you get 16 ohms, in parallel you get 4 ohms. Pick whichever your amp's output tap supports, then wire to match.

02How much amp power can I run into these?

75 watts per speaker, 150 watts for the pair when both are wired into the same output. At 97dB sensitivity you will rarely need that much.

03Will these work in a bass cab?

No. Response runs 80Hz to 5kHz with resonance in the mid-70s to mid-80s Hz. There is no useful low end below that for bass.

04Will they fit my existing cabinet?

Check three numbers against your baffle: 11.1 inch cutout, 11.7 inch bolt circle, 5.0 inch depth behind the baffle. Four mounting slots.
