01How often should I oil the bore?
Sparingly — a few times a year is typical for most wooden instruments, more in very dry conditions. Over-oiling causes more problems than under-oiling.
02Can I use this on a plastic clarinet?
No benefit. Plastic and resin bodies don't absorb or lose moisture the way wood does, so bore oil just leaves residue.
03Is this the same as key oil?
No. Key oil lubricates moving keywork; bore oil treats the wood interior of the body. They aren't interchangeable.
04Will it stop my clarinet from cracking?
It's part of wood care, but cracking is driven mostly by rapid temperature and humidity swings. Case humidity control and gradual warm-up matter more.
