Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
The Green Snakeskin SYN-20IR is a 20W, three-channel tube combo with one built-in clean channel and two channels supplied by an installed Synergy preamp module. Use its Structure modes and Reactance control to shape the power-amp response, then retain Structure and IR settings with each channel. A Celestion Vintage 30 is fitted in the cabinet. For work away from a mic’d speaker, it also provides programmable IR slots, a level-controlled headphone output, and a balanced XLR connection.
Strong match
Who this is for
- Headphone practice using the dedicated 1/4-inch headphone output with its own level control.
- Direct recording sessions that need programmable onboard IR choices with under-1ms processing latency.
- Changing module-based preamp channels while retaining the amp’s onboard clean channel.
Consider the trade-offs
When to look elsewhere
- Players seeking all three channels without adding an official Synergy preamp module.
