Blending classic Fender-inspired bass design with creative Paranormal Series innovation, the Squier Paranormal Precision Bass Thinline SJ offers a distinctive combination of semi-hollow resonance, lightweight comfort and versatile single-coil tone. Built with a semi-hollow nyatoh body, a maple neck with an Indian laurel fingerboard and a unique Fender-designed SJ pickup configuration, this bass delivers everything from deep vintage P Bass-style punch to articulate Jazz Bass-inspired growl. The semi-hollow thinline construction enhances acoustic character while reducing weight, creating an instrument that feels lively, comfortable and inspiring to play. Designed for bassists who want familiar Fender performance with a unique twist, the Squier Paranormal Precision Bass Thinline SJ stands apart from traditional designs. Semi-Hollow Thinline Construction Enhances Resonance and Reduces Weight The defining feature of the Squier Paranormal Precision Bass Thinline SJ is its semi-hollow thinline body construction. Crafted from nyatoh, the semi-hollow body produces a naturally resonant voice with added openness and acoustic character compared to a traditional solidbody bass. The lighter overall weight also improves playing comfort during long rehearsals, recording sessions and performances. This combination of resonance and comfort gives the instrument a unique feel that immediately sets it apart. Unique SJ Pickup Configuration Delivers Broad Tonal Versatility A Fender-designed alnico '51 Precision Bass-style single-coil pickup works alongside a Fender-designed alnico Jazz Bass-style single-coil bridge pickup to create a remarkably versatile sonic platform. This unconventional pairing allows players to access everything from warm, thumping vintage bass tones to focused, articulate bridge-position sounds with plenty of growl and definition. A three-way blade switch provides quick access to individual pickup voices or a blended middle position. The result is a bass capable of covering a wide range of genres and playing styles with ease. Maple Neck and Indian Laurel Fingerboard Provide Comfortable Playability The maple neck features a comfortable C-shaped profile that feels familiar and accessible for players of all levels. Paired with an Indian laurel fingerboard, the neck offers a smooth playing experience across all 20 narrow-tall frets. Pearloid dot inlays add visual appeal while maintaining a classic aesthetic. Combined with the traditional 34" scale length, this design provides excellent note definition, comfortable string tension and dependable performance. Vintage-Style Hardware Supports Reliable Performance A four-saddle vintage-style bridge with slotted barrel saddles helps deliver solid sustain, dependable intonation and a classic look. Vintage-style open-gear tuning machines provide smooth operation and stable tuning while complementing the instrument’s retro-inspired design. Chrome hardware and skirted amp-style control knobs further reinforce the vintage aesthetic. Together, these appointments create a reliable platform suitable for both studio and stage use. A Bold Reimagining of the Classic P Bass Platform The Paranormal Series is known for exploring unexpected combinations of classic Fender-inspired elements, and the Squier Paranormal Precision Bass Thinline SJ is a perfect example of that philosophy. By combining semi-hollow construction with a unique SJ pickup layout, it delivers tones and playing characteristics not typically found in either traditional Precision Bass or Jazz Bass models. Its blend of resonance, versatility and comfort makes it a compelling choice for players looking to expand their sonic options. For bassists seeking a distinctive instrument that balances vintage inspiration with modern creativity, the Paranormal Precision Bass Thinline SJ model offers a truly unique experience.
