Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
Extended-range parts are paired with a multiscale layout here: the 25.5–27.5 inch scale gives the lower strings more tension and clarity, while the higher strings use the shorter end of the scale. The maple Thin C neck, 20-inch radius and 24 jumbo frets provide a broad, fast-playing surface across all eight strings. Schecter Diamond Heretic humbuckers, a five-way selector and master controls give you several pickup settings from one straightforward control layout.
Strong match
Who this is for
- Players building heavy rhythm and lead parts that call for an eight-string range.
- Sessions that benefit from choosing among five pickup-switch positions without a complex control layout.
- Players who want lower-string tension and clarity from a 25.5–27.5 inch multiscale design.
Consider the trade-offs
When to look elsewhere
- Players seeking a six- or seven-string instrument.
- Anyone needing a case or gig bag supplied with the guitar.
