Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
Finished in Metallic Bronze, the Sensei 290 combines a streamlined, thinner korina body with two hum-canceling Steelhead P90 pickups. The pickups supply the snap, grit, and dynamic response associated here with a P90-style voice, while Alnico V magnets contribute smooth highs. For changing arrangements, Bass Contour lets you pare back low end for tighter, more cutting rhythm sounds; leave it open for more body and punch. A treble bleed circuit keeps high frequencies present as you reduce guitar volume.
Strong match
Who this is for
- P90-based rehearsal, stage, or studio parts that need reduced hum and adjustable low-end control.
- Sets that alternate between fuller pickup punch and tighter, more twang-focused rhythm textures.
Consider the trade-offs
When to look elsewhere
- Players who need a two-humbucker guitar rather than the dual Steelhead P90 setup.
