Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
Built around two 7-mil Mylar plies, a 7-mil underlay ring, and a 5-mil clear center dot, this 14-inch coated Powerstroke 77 is aimed at controlled, warm, crisp drum sounds. The ring cuts back excess overtones while retaining sensitivity and response. Its focused voice supports articulate rimshots and cross-sticking, while the center dot is intended for heavy playing.
Strong match
Who this is for
- Snare or tom setups where excess overtones need reducing without losing playing response.
- Drummers using rimshots and cross-sticking who want a more focused drum voice.
