Coated is a little warmer with slightly less attack, and works with brushes. Clear is brighter and more cutting. Both have the same dampening.
02Do I need moongel with this head?
Usually not. The two-ply floating design already cuts overtones. Extra dampening can make the tom sound choked.
03Will this work on a snare?
It is built and sized as a tom head. On a snare it would sound thick and dull, and it is not a snare-side head.
04Does this fit a 16-inch floor tom?
Yes, as long as the shell measures 16 inches across. Head sizing follows shell diameter, not hoop width.
