It is built as a batter — two-ply film and short decay are made for beater contact. It can go on the front, but there is no port hole, so you would cut your own.
02Will this fit my 22 inch bass drum?
Yes. Drum head sizes match shell diameter. Measure straight across the top of the shell, ignoring the hoop, and confirm it reads 22 inches.
03Do I still need a pillow inside the drum?
Usually far less. The damping ring already shortens the note. Try the drum empty first, then add a small pillow touching the head only if you want it drier.
04Coated or clear for a kick drum?
Coated is warmer with less click. Clear gives slightly more attack. For a miked rock or pop kick, coated is the safer all-round choice.
