Measure across the top of the bare shell, edge to edge. That number is the head size. Do not measure the hoop or the old head with its rim.
02Can I use this as a bottom head?
You can, but it isn't the usual choice. Two-ply heads are thick for the resonant side and will choke sustain noticeably.
03Coated or clear for toms?
