PRSSilver Sky Defender Limited-Edition Electric Guitar - Willow Green

Iconic automotive heritage and world-class guitar craftsmanship collide in the PRS Silver Sky Defender, a limited-edition collaboration with Land Rover inspired by John Mayer's long-standing love of vintage Defenders. The collection draws from four heritage Defender colors—Arles Blue, Willow Green, Portofino Red and Sandglow Yellow—with each finish limited to just 500 guitars worldwide. Beneath the distinctive colorways is the vintage-inspired Silver Sky platform John developed with PRS, featuring a resonant alder body, rounded 635JM-R maple neck and smooth 7.25" rosewood fingerboard. Three 635JM single-coils deliver full, articulate tone with smooth musical highs, while a PRS steel tremolo and locking tuners provide expressive performance and dependable tuning. Matching painted headstocks, limited-edition Defender neck plates and custom-badged ATA molded cases complete a rare collaboration shaped as much by the Grammy winner's personal inspirations as his approach to guitar design. Defender Heritage Colors Bring John Mayer's Inspiration to Life The Silver Sky Defender color story began with John's own vintage Arles Blue Land Rover Defender, translating a finish that inspired him in the automotive world onto his signature PRS platform. From there, the collection expands into four heritage Defender colors: Arles Blue, Willow Green, Portofino Red and Sandglow Yellow. Each finish is applied to the Silver Sky's solid alder body, which provides a balanced, resonant tonal foundation with clear response across the frequency range. A matching painted headstock extends the automotive-inspired palette beyond the body for a cohesive limited-edition presentation. Production is restricted to 500 guitars in each color and 2,000 instruments worldwide, with a unique neck plate identifying the individual finish and carrying a "1 of 500" marking to document its place in the collection. 635JM-R Maple Neck Offers a Rounded, Vintage-Inspired Feel A bolt-on maple neck carved to John's 635JM-R profile gives the Silver Sky Defender the rounded, substantial feel central to the model's vintage-inspired playing experience. The 25.5" scale provides familiar string tension and response, while the rosewood fingerboard features a 7.25" radius and 22 PRS medium frets for comfortable chord work and expressive lead playing. Small Bird inlays bring unmistakable PRS identity to the dark fingerboard, while a synthetic bone nut provides a consistent contact point at the headstock. A high-gloss nitro finish completes a neck specification developed around the feel and response John sought when creating the Silver Sky with PRS. 635JM Single-Coils Deliver Full, Articulate Tone Three PRS 635JM single-coil pickups give the Silver Sky Defender the clear, responsive voice at the heart of John's signature platform. Designed for a full, articulate response with smooth musical highs, the pickup set preserves note definition across clean and driven sounds while responding dynamically to changes in attack. A five-way blade switch provides the familiar range of individual and combined pickup selections, while a master volume and two tone controls offer straightforward sound shaping from the guitar. Together, the 635JM pickups and intuitive control layout provide a broad palette of expressive single-coil sounds without distracting from the immediate, player-focused character of the Silver Sky. Limited-Edition Defender Details and Timeless PRS Appointments A PRS steel tremolo gives the Silver Sky Defender smooth, expressive pitch control, complemented by vintage-style locking tuners for precise adjustment and efficient string changes. Nickel hardware maintains the understated aesthetic of the core Silver Sky design, allowing the heritage Defender colors and matching painted headstocks to take center stage. Each guitar receives a special neck plate bearing a Land Rover Defender badge, its individual color name and a "1 of 500" limited-edition inscription. An included PRS ATA molded hardshell case with a custom Defender badge carries the collaboration through to the complete package while providing substantial protection for storage and transport. A Personal New Chapter in the Silver Sky Story John Mayer has long drawn inspiration for guitar colors from the objects and materials that surround him, making his passion for vintage Land Rover Defenders a natural starting point for this collaboration. The PRS Silver Sky Defender turns that personal connection into four heritage colorways while preserving the sound, feel and response John developed with PRS for his signature electric. From the 635JM pickups and rounded 635JM-R neck to the steel tremolo and familiar control layout, the musical foundation remains unmistakably Silver Sky. Limited to 500 examples of each finish worldwide and distinguished by exclusive Defender details, this special edition brings two of Mayer's enduring passions together in one highly personal interpretation of his signature guitar.
