PRSSE Silver Sky Defender Limited-Edition Electric Guitar - Sedona Red

Iconic automotive style and timeless PRS design collide in the SE Silver Sky Defender, a limited-edition collaboration with Land Rover inspired by John Mayer's long-standing love of the Defender. For this collection, John and PRS looked to Land Rover’s contemporary Defender palette, selecting Petra Copper, Sedona Red, Carpathian Grey and Woolstone Green to give the SE Silver Sky a fresh visual identity. Each finish is set against a black pickguard—a first for the Silver Sky—while a custom neck plate and PRS/Land Rover gig bag extend the collaboration beyond the body. Underneath the new colors is the familiar SE Silver Sky platform, with a poplar body, 635JM maple neck and rosewood fingerboard providing a comfortable, responsive foundation. Three 635JM "S" single-coils deliver clear, expressive tone, while a two-point steel tremolo provides smooth pitch control, preserving the versatile sound and player-focused feel at the heart of the SE Silver Sky. Modern Defender Colors Bring Contemporary Style to the Silver Sky The SE Silver Sky Defender draws its visual inspiration from the Defender of today, with John and PRS exploring decades of automotive history and more than 900 colors before arriving at four contemporary finishes: Petra Copper, Sedona Red, Carpathian Grey and Woolstone Green. Each is applied to the guitar's solid poplar body, which provides a balanced, resonant foundation for the Silver Sky's single-coil voice. A black pickguard creates a bold contrast against each finish and marks the first use of a black pickguard on a Silver Sky model, while a custom neck plate further distinguishes the collaboration. Together, these details bring the color and character of the contemporary Defender to John's signature platform while giving the SE Silver Sky a fresh visual identity. 635JM Maple Neck Delivers Comfortable Silver Sky Playability A bolt-on maple neck carved to John's 635JM profile gives the SE Silver Sky Defender a comfortably rounded feel designed for fluid playing across the entire fingerboard. The 25.5" scale provides familiar string tension and response, while the rosewood fingerboard combines an 8.5" radius with 22 PRS medium frets for a versatile balance of comfortable chord work and expressive lead playing. Small Bird inlays bring unmistakable PRS identity to the dark fingerboard, while a synthetic bone nut provides a consistent contact point at the headstock. Together, the neck dimensions and familiar Silver Sky proportions create an inviting playing experience suited to everything from detailed rhythm work to expressive bends. 635JM "S" Single-Coils Deliver Clear, Expressive Tone Three PRS 635JM "S" single-coil pickups give the SE Silver Sky Defender the articulate, responsive voice at the heart of John's signature platform. The three-pickup configuration provides a broad range of clear single-coil sounds, with a five-way blade switch offering immediate access to individual and combined pickup selections. A master volume and two tone controls provide straightforward sound shaping, making it easy to move between warmer, rounder textures and brighter, more defined responses. Dynamic and versatile without becoming complicated, the electronics complement the SE Silver Sky's player-focused design with a wide tonal palette that responds naturally to changes in touch and attack. Limited-Edition Defender Details and Timeless PRS Appointments A two-point steel tremolo gives the SE Silver Sky Defender smooth, expressive pitch control, while vintage-style tuners provide straightforward, precise adjustment at the headstock. Nickel hardware complements the contemporary Defender finishes, with the black pickguard providing a distinctive visual counterpoint across all four colorways. A custom neck plate marks the guitar as part of the Defender collaboration, and an included custom PRS/Land Rover gig bag carries the shared design identity through to storage and transport. Together, these exclusive details give the collection a cohesive character while preserving the familiar hardware and functional simplicity of the SE Silver Sky platform. A Personal New Chapter in the Silver Sky Story John Mayer has long drawn inspiration for guitar colors from the objects and materials that surround him, making his passion for Land Rover Defenders a natural starting point for this collaboration. For the PRS SE Silver Sky Defender, that inspiration turns to the Defender of today, translating four contemporary automotive colors and a first-ever black Silver Sky pickguard into a fresh expression of the Grammy winner's signature design. Beneath those exclusive details remains a player-focused SE Silver Sky with responsive 635JM "S" pickups, comfortable 635JM neck geometry and an expressive steel tremolo. Offered for a limited time, the SE Silver Sky Defender brings together functional design, personal inspiration and contemporary Land Rover style in a guitar built to make its own statement.
