Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
Built around a three-pickup layout and extensive switching, the Modern Eagle V gives a player several pickup voices from one solidbody instrument. Its TCI humbuckers, NS-01 middle single-coil, five-way blade, push/pull tone control, and coil-split toggles make it practical to move between isolated and blended pickup settings during a set. A flame maple 10-Top, mahogany back and neck, East Indian rosewood fingerboard, Gen III tremolo, and locking tuners round out a fully appointed Fire Smokeburst PRS.
Strong match
Who this is for
- Players who want humbucker and middle single-coil selections available from one five-way pickup system.
- Set changes that call for coil-split options and several blended pickup combinations.
Consider the trade-offs
When to look elsewhere
- Players who need more than 22 frets.
- Players seeking a fixed-bridge guitar rather than a tremolo-equipped model.
