01What reed strength should I use with a 7?
A 7 tip pairs well with medium reeds, roughly 2.5 to 3. Larger tip openings generally want softer reeds; go down a half step if it feels stuffy.
02Will my current ligature fit?
Only if it was made for a hard rubber tenor mouthpiece. Metal-blank ligatures are cut smaller and usually will not close down over this.
03Is this good for a beginner?
It is more mouthpiece than a first-year player needs. It suits someone already producing a steady tone who has outgrown the piece bundled with their horn.
04Does it fit alto sax?
No. This is a tenor mouthpiece. The bore and shank are sized for a tenor neck and will not seal on an alto.
