Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
Jackson’s Concert Bass CB JS3P is a four-string electric bass with a chambered poplar body, burl poplar top, and Transparent Black finish. A graphite-reinforced maple neck carries a 12–16-inch compound-radius amaranth fingerboard with 24 jumbo frets, giving the full neck a progressively flatter playing surface. Dual Jackson humbuckers feed an active three-band EQ, while separate pickup volumes let you set their balance. The Jackson HiMass bridge rounds out a bass built for low-end work, detailed EQ changes, and extended-range fret access.
Strong match
Who this is for
- Band rehearsals where separate pickup volumes and active bass, mid, and treble controls help refine the bass part.
- Players using all 24 frets for lines or solos that travel well above the lower register.
- Longer performances where the chambered poplar body’s reduced weight is useful.
