Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
The black Spectra Bass JS3 is a four-string electric bass with a 34-inch scale, bolt-on maple neck, and 24 jumbo frets on a laurel fingerboard. Its offset poplar body and enlarged upper horn are designed to spread the bass’s weight more evenly for extended playing. The dual humbuckers can be coil split, while the 3-band active EQ handles low, mid, and high-frequency adjustment. A pull on the volume knob takes the active circuit out of the path for passive operation.
Strong match

- Players who need a four-string bass with adjustable bass, midrange, and treble controls.
- Long rehearsal or performance sessions where a more evenly distributed body design is useful.
