Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
Built in Japan, the black RG550 Genesis Collection carries the original RG550 approach into a current production guitar. Its basswood body and bolt-on Super Wizard five-piece maple/walnut neck are paired with a maple fingerboard, 24 jumbo frets, and a 25.5-inch scale. The passive V7/S1/V8 HSH pickup arrangement offers five selections for clean parts, rhythm sounds, and saturated lead work. An Edge tremolo, locking nut, and Gotoh machine heads support expressive vibrato and dive-bomb techniques with tuning stability.
