Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
The Weathered Black RGR662AHBF is a Japanese-made, fixed-bridge RG Prestige for players who favor a direct six-string setup. An ash solidbody is paired with a bolt-on Super Wizard HP maple/walnut neck, 24 jumbo frets, and Prestige fret edge treatment for fast position changes and demanding sessions. DiMarzio Air Norton and Tone Zone humbuckers work through a five-way selector, master volume, and master tone, covering clear neck sounds through powerful bridge work. Gotoh MG-T locking tuners support tuning stability and reduce the time needed for string changes.
Strong match
Who this is for
- Metal, progressive, and hard-rock arrangements built around precise rhythm and lead playing

- Long technical practice sessions using fast shifts and the full 24-fret range
Consider the trade-offs
When to look elsewhere
- Players specifically seeking tremolo-based vibrato, as this model uses a Gibraltar Standard III fixed bridge.
