Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
Built around a 24-fret AZ neck and two Modern Custom humbuckers, the AZ24S2MLB gives a player broad pickup options without adding a complicated control layout. The five-way selector and Alter Switch provide ten configurations, including humbucker, split-coil, and blended settings. Its roasted maple neck has a satin polyurethane finish, while the alder body, T106 tremolo, locking tuners, and jumbo stainless-steel frets form a well-equipped solidbody platform for changing parts and expressive vibrato.
Strong match
Who this is for
- Moving between humbucker, split-coil, and blended pickup sounds during a rehearsal, set, or recording session.
- Players who want 24 frets for lead passages, complex chord shapes, and quick shifts around the neck.
- Regular string changes where the locking machine heads can speed up the process.
Consider the trade-offs
When to look elsewhere
- Players who need a case or gig bag included with the guitar.
