Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
Gretsch’s Electromatic CVT Double-Cut pairs a gloss mahogany body with a bolt-on okoume neck, laurel fingerboard, and a 24.6-inch scale. Its double-cut shape gives lead players access to the upper frets. Twin Six humbuckers cover clean, chiming rhythm work through fuller overdriven sounds, while the three-way toggle selects the neck pickup, bridge pickup, or both. Master volume and tone controls keep adjustments straightforward, and the adjustable wrap-around tailpiece provides intonation adjustment in a clean, streamlined layout.
Strong match
Who this is for
- Moving between clean rhythm parts and saturated lead sounds with the three pickup selections.
- Lead work that benefits from the double-cut body’s upper-fret access.
- Players who want master volume and tone controls for direct sound adjustments.
