Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
Built around two P-90 pickups, the SG Special moves from a smooth clean response to a thicker, more aggressive overdriven voice. The three-way selector gives you neck, bridge, or combined-pickup settings, while separate volume and tone controls for each pickup provide hands-on adjustment. Its mahogany double-cutaway body, SlimTaper set neck, and 22-fret rosewood fingerboard keep the layout focused on direct electric-guitar work, with access to the upper register.
Strong match
Who this is for
- Players moving between clean passages and driven rock parts using neck, bridge, and combined pickup settings.
- Sessions or rehearsals where separate controls for each P-90 pickup help shape the guitar signal.
