Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
Gibson Custom’s Les Paul Custom Long Scale pairs the familiar single-cut format with a 25.5-inch scale for firmer string tension, clearer note separation, and stable tuning. Its weight-relieved mahogany body and plain maple top support warmth, sustain, attack, and definition, while the Modern Medium C mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard provide a smooth, precise playing surface. The calibrated 490R and 498T humbuckers cover clean passages, lead work, rock crunch, and higher-gain sounds through a straightforward dual-volume, dual-tone layout.
Strong match
Who this is for
- Players who prefer a longer-scale string feel for alternate tunings and heavier playing styles.
- Live and studio parts that move between warm neck-pickup leads and more forceful bridge-pickup drive.
- Guitarists seeking a Les Paul Custom format with gold hardware, multi-ply binding, and ebony finish.
