Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
Built around the 1958 Explorer shape, this Gibson Custom pairs a solid korina body and set-in korina neck with two Custombuckers. The pickup layout gives players a rounded neck voice for chords and solos, while the bridge position brings more bite and presence to lead parts and heavier rhythms. An ABR-1 bridge with brass saddles supports sustained notes, and the gold hardware with black four-ply pickguard completes the period-inspired look. A hardshell case is part of the package.
Strong match
Who this is for
- Players who want separate neck and bridge humbucker voices for chords, solos, leads, and heavier rhythm parts.
- Stage or studio setups where a fixed bridge, individual pickup volumes, and master tone control suit the workflow.
