Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
The Player II Stratocaster HSS in Cactus Gray keeps the alder double-cut design while placing an Alnico II humbucker at the bridge beside Alnico V Strat single-coils at the neck and middle. Its 5-way blade switch retains a broad range of pickup selections, from clear single-coil sounds to the thicker bridge humbucker voice. The two-point synchronized tremolo provides pitch control for subtle shimmer or more pronounced effects. A satin-finished Modern C maple neck and 22-fret maple fingerboard round out the contemporary Strat format.
Strong match
Who this is for
- Covering clear rhythm parts and thicker bridge-pickup sounds from one HSS guitar during rehearsals.
- Recording sessions that benefit from neck, middle, in-between, and bridge pickup selections.
- Adding tremolo movement to lead lines or chords with a two-point synchronized system.
Consider the trade-offs
When to look elsewhere
- Players who want an all-single-coil Stratocaster; the bridge position uses a Player Series Alnico II humbucker.
