Strong match

Who this is for

  • Replacing both Tele pickups in one job
  • Players wanting more bridge bite and output
  • Guitars where the stock neck pickup sounds muddy

Consider the trade-offs

When to look elsewhere

  • Anyone needing only one pickup replaced
  • Humbucker-equipped or non-Tele-routed guitars
  • Budget upgrades — this costs more than many used guitars

What matters in use

The specifications, translated

Catalog numbers tell only part of the story. These are the details most likely to change how this product feels, sounds, or fits into a setup.

Detail 01

SS configuration

Two single coils, neck and bridge. No middle pickup, so you get three switch positions, not five.

Detail 02

Telecaster format

Bridge pickup mounts to the bridge plate, neck pickup to the body or pickguard. Not interchangeable with Strat pickups.

Detail 03

Single-coil design

Hum in both individual positions. The middle switch position runs both together and quiets it somewhat.

Detail 04

Custom Shop set

Hand-wound production run rather than standard factory line, which is where most of the price sits.

Final check

Know before you order

  1. 01Soldering required, including the bridge pickup ground to the bridge plate.
  2. 02Confirm your bridge plate takes a standard Tele bridge pickup with three mounting screws.
  3. 03Set pickup heights after install — output balance between neck and bridge depends on it.

Product questions

Before you decide

Straight answers to the questions shoppers most often ask about this product.

01Does this include the control plate or wiring harness?

No. This is the two pickups. Pots, switch, capacitor and jack are separate purchases if yours need replacing.

02Will these fit a Squier Telecaster?

If it uses standard Tele routing and a standard bridge plate, yes. Import bridge plates occasionally differ — check screw spacing first.

03Can I install just the bridge pickup?

You can, but you're paying for both. A single pickup purchase makes more sense if only one position needs work.

04Why the price versus standard Fender pickups?

Custom Shop sets are built in a separate hand-wound line rather than the standard production run. That labor is most of the difference.
