Usually not. The internal oil layer does the damping, so external muffling on top of it tends to choke the drum entirely.
02Can I use this on a snare?
It will fit a 10-inch snare, but it is built as a tom batter. Expect a very dry, dead response with little crack.
03How does it tune?
It favors low to medium tension. Cranked high it loses the fat character the oil layer is there to produce.
04Is the bottom head included?
No. This is a single batter head. Resonant heads are sold separately.
