No. Bass drum heads are sized to the shell diameter. A 20 inch head will not reach the hoop on a 22 inch drum.

03Do I still need a pillow inside the drum?
Usually not. The damping ring at the edge of the head handles muffling, so you can start with nothing inside and add only if needed.
