01Do I still need a pillow in the drum?
Usually not. The foam ring handles most of the ring from the batter side. Some players still add light internal damping for a very dry sound.
02Does this come with the foam rings?
The EMAD system uses foam rings that sit in the head's outer channel, and the head ships with them.
03Will this fit an 18-inch bass drum?
No. This is the 20-inch version. An 18-inch drum needs the 18-inch head.
04Clear or coated for kick?
Clear gives more attack and top end, which cuts better when miked. Coated is warmer and softer in the attack.
