Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
ESP LTD’s EC-01 is a right-handed single-cutaway electric built around a mahogany body, set-thru construction, and one Seymour Duncan Custom 14 at the bridge. The supplied pickup description centers on hot output and punchy mids for aggressive rhythms and leads; its push-pull volume control changes it to single-coil operation. The Thin U 3-piece mahogany neck, Macassar ebony fingerboard, and 22 extra-jumbo stainless-steel frets are specified for fast, precise movement. This version is finished in satin Charcoal Burst with black hardware.
Strong match
Who this is for
- Aggressive rhythm and lead work using the Custom 14’s hot output and punchy midrange.
- Players wanting to switch the bridge humbucker into single-coil operation from the volume control.
Consider the trade-offs
When to look elsewhere
- Left-handed players; this model is right-handed.
- Players requiring a separate neck pickup; the guitar has one bridge-position Custom 14 humbucker.
